Music Link at the University of Zaragoza: Uniting Cultures Through Music

28 de febrero de 2025

On February 13, 2025, we had the pleasure of presenting the Music Link project to the students at the University of Zaragoza, Faculty of Education. This project aims to support teachers in using music as a tool to overcome linguistic and cultural barriers in the classroom, fostering integration and communication – especially for immigrant communities, including Ukrainian students.

During the event, participants watched a short documentary about the story of Music Link and its creation. Together, we completed a course from the project’s Platform and engaged in interactive discussions on the emotional, cultural, and communicative power of music. This activity encouraged participants to reflect on personal experiences and how music connects people beyond language. Carmen Estebán, the project coordinator from Federación García Estebán, demonstrated, using examples from the Music Link modules, how music shapes identity and promotes cultural integration.

A total of 55 participants, including students and music teachers, joined us, and we were delighted to award certificates to all participants for their engagement and contribution.

Even though this was the final event of the Music Link project, we will continue using music to bring people together! 🎵💙
